Anhui Jianzhu Univeristy(AHJZU) held the entrance education for the Class of 2023 international students on September 20th.
The entrance education event held in the Smart Classroom of the Main Teaching Building on the South Campus and was attended by new international students from the Class of 2023, as well as those from the Classes of 2021 and 2022. All staff members of the International Office were also present. Vice President Min Jie gave a welcome speech to the international students on behalf of the AHJZU.
Vice president Min Jie introduced educational features, international exchange activities, and expressed three hopes for the international students. Firstly, to quickly adapt to the new learning and living environment, enhance cross-cultural communication skills, and make friends with Chinese teachers and students. Secondly, to abide by the university's rules and regulations, excel in learning Chinese, acquire professional knowledge, and improve their overall qualities. Lastly, to become ambassadors of friendship between Chinese and foreign cultures and build bridges of friendship.
At the beginning of the entrance education, the international studentes viewed videos about Hefei City and AHJZU to have a general understanding of the city and the university where they will be living. Following this, a special lecture was held, focusing on topics such as laws and regulations, residence permits, university rules and discipline, medical insurance, and how to prevent online fraud. Each international student was also provided with a bilingual version of the AHJZU International Student Handbook to help them understand Chinese laws, regulations, and university rules and adapt them to campus life. After the lecture, there was an interactive session where teachers from the International Office answered the questions and concerns of the international students, creating an engaging and lively atmosphere.
So far as now, the international students studying at AHJZU come from 15 different countries, including Russia, Mongolia, Morocco, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe etc. They are enrolled in various programs, including master's, undergraduate, and Chinese language studies. The aim of this entrance education is to help international students adapt to university life quickly, understand Chinese laws and regulations, enhance their awareness of fraud prevention, and establish a correct approach to learning, laying a solid foundation for their successful academic journey.
